Careful

And she died in his arms
Wearing a happy smile
Wanting to stay alone
Wanting her man leave

Let me stay
Let me be with you

The younger generation whispered
I guess I don’t have a dad
Just the neighbor to care for me

The tears in my eyes
Couldn’t decide
If it’s time to join the centuries
Or stick to the present.
Eternal month,
Together
We last forever

Careful
Careful
Careful babe
You’re gonna cut yourself

She died in his arms
Wearing a happy smile
Left him wishing he was dead
Love buried his heart six feet under
Life then was a coffin and his shallow soul
Chased ghosts in the dark

The tears in my eyes
Can’t hide the pain
I swallow hard and taste
The bitter autumn’s rape

Careful
Careful
You’ll miss your line in life’s theatre

All that you choose to be
All that you hide and dream
All your nightmares and your wishes
All of them can be mine

If you say you love me
One more time
One last time
Say you love me
